HFMD has been confirmed in the district. Please monitor your child for the following:
sudden onset of fever
lesions in the mouth follow 1 - 2 days after fever. (The lesions begin as small red spots that blister and may become ulcers. They are usually located on the tongue, gums, and inside of the cheeks and can be very painful, often described as appearing similar to canker sores.)
A skin rash then develops, which is usually located on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Their appearance begins as red dots, progressing to raised bumps.
