iPads
With this deployment of 10th Generation iPads, the school district has opted to get AppleCare coverage with the device to allow for up 2 no cost repairs per school year. AppleCare requires the iPad to be secured in one of their approved cases. Therefore, the school district requires the student to obtain one of the approved cases listed below. Please note: The 10th Generation iPad does not include a headphone jack, however our STM Dux Ox includes a built-in headphone jack adapter.

All iPads MUST be kept in an approved case at ALL times
Students will be given the option of purchasing a case from the school for $42.50, or purchasing an approved case on the approved case list here. Having an approved case is a condition of the iPad’s warranty by AppleCare and will be enforced. The majority of damaged iPads that we receive are cracked screens as a result of dropping the device. Securing the iPad in a case at all times will greatly increase the odds of not damaging the device if dropped. Any damage caused to an iPad not in a case may result in the student incurring the full cost of the repairs. Students found with their iPads not in an approved case will be reported and may be fully responsible for any future damage.
Lost or Stolen iPad
If the iPad is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair as a result of irresponsible behavior, the student may be held responsible up to the full replacement cost of $378.00. Examples of irresponsible behaviors include, but are not limited to, intentionally damaging the device, jail breaking the device, leaving the device unattended, leaving the device in an unsecured area or unlocked vehicle, or being reckless with the device. The student will be held responsible for the full replacement cost of the device should it be stolen, lost, or damaged as a result of these types of behavior.
Accidental Damage to the iPad
If any damage to the iPad is discovered by the student, it must be reported to the school’s main office so we may determine the next course of action for the device. Should it be determined that the damage to the iPad was accidental, and the iPad was properly secured in an approved case, the following process will take place: Student will be issued a loaner iPad while the device is repaired. Students are eligible for 2 no cost accidental damage repairs per school year. Any subsequent accidental damage repairs beyond those 2 will cost up to $329.00. Repeated accidental damage may result in iPad restrictions or loss of take home privileges. School years are considered the following date ranges:
07/01/2024 to 06/30/2025
07/01/2025 to 06/30/2026
07/01/2026 to 06/30/2027
Unauthorized Repairs
If, at any point, we send off an iPad for repair that was used by your student and it was deemed by AppleCare that the device had an unauthorized repair, AppleCare will no longer cover the device. If this happens, the student will be responsible for the cost of a full replacement of the device for $378.00.
Defective Issues iPad
If an iPad presents an issue the school district deems defective, such as battery issues or screen defects, these issues will be fully covered by the AppleCare warranty. However, if AppleCare deems an issue was caused by accidental damage, it will count as 1 of the accidental repairs allotted per school year.
*This repair agreement does not apply to iPads distributed before 07/31/2024, including our 8th generation iPads. The previous repair agreement still applies to those. This agreement is only applicable to the 10th generation iPads and is valid until 06/30/2027.
